FROM NDSC:

CONTACT YOUR CONGRESS MEMBERS TO SUPPORT FEDERAL BILL THAT ENCOURAGES STATES TO FUND EFFORT TO REDUCE SUBMINIMUM WAGE AND EXPAND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Senators Grassley (R-IA) and Schumer (D-NY) and House of Representatives members Van Hollen (D-MD) and McMorris Rogers (R-WA) have introduced the (S1604) Transition to Independence Act.

Ask legislators to support this important bipartisan bill.

This bill will establish the Transition to Independence demonstration program, which will give ten Medicaid Buy-In states an opportunity to receive bonus payments for meeting goals that reduce subminimum wage work, increase integrated employment, and for taking other actions that help expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities within the state.
